We havent run an XC Dig for sometime. The next planned section will be the climb from TPT to top of the hill. We will mark this soon and await approval from the FE.. If XC Digs resume it will be on Sundays during September / October / November.

Two XC Dig evenings 20th / 27th may for Wharncliffe weekender

Peaty asked (see thread below) if section 5 would be open for the weekender. We only need to build a bridge and do some benching so I'm proposing two evening digs.

I'll be up there from around 6ish onwards so join anytime on 20th and 27th May, probably a quick pint on the way home in the pub in Greno this time

DH/XC Dig - 30th March

In a continuation of the recent plan hatched by our 2 entities there will be a joint dig day on the 30th of March starting at 10am - top car park or 10.20am at the top of the new trail head.
The plan is to continue with the trail in terms of brashing it out and hopefully get to the bottom by the days end.
Usual faces will be there, but new ones always welcome

Combined XC DH dig day Sunday 24th Feb

After flagging section 7 descent with Ben, Rich and Duncan last week they have kidley offered to merge the DH and XC dig days this Sunday to have both teams work on this new Descent Line.

10:00am at Fastrack/top of no human would be a good start, I'll be up at the top CP to give 1/2 people a lift down if needed.

Fantastic Dig day today, nice weather and the best turn out we have seen for a long time. Got loads of maintenance done on sections 1 through 3, they needed some TLC, someone put bit more of a lip on that table top too

Thanks to Duncan, Mark, Paul E, Dave S, Ben, Derek, Mikkel, Jon from SCC, erm all the others I forget ? Couple more folks who rode by said they would be down next time.... Great start to 2008 many thanks to all.

Next Dig is Feb 24th, Time to buid some more bridges. 1 gully in section 2, 1 in section 5, then who knows, the magic trail pixies may have flagged section 7 to start on by then

Hope to put in gulley crossing in section 5, then pop back onto sections 1-3 to do some much needed maintenance work.

Dig day December 16th - now a ride day

We've decided not to dig on 16th but to have a group ride around the woods, nothing strenuous more of a social meet up. Mince pies and mulled wine promised, and stoopid Santa hats essential.

DH Dig 25/11/07 Postponed

I'm postponing the Dig session this coming weekend to the following week, i.e to Sunday 2nd Dec.

The reason is that I want (read need) to implement a change to the very bottom of fast track after the ski jump and gulley that re-directs the track down a newly scraped out section. To do so we need a good number of bodies as we need to build quite a substantial berm and I need time to sign the area to warn users of the work in progress that day. This delay also gives me time to draw up the proposal for the changes and post it up here and other forums and in the woods so everyone is aware of whats happening.

This change is neccessary and is not up for discussion and allows a continued trail where it would otherwise stop (note the "Stop Trail End" signs are already in place although people ignore them and exit straight out onto the TPT) by the implementation of the staggered gate system.

An idea of who would be available would be apprecaited.

XC Dig - November and December Ride

November XC Dig day - 25th 10:00am top car park.
This month we will be working mostly on opening up section 5 and putting up trail markers for the whole red route. Additional singletrack will be added as we progress with the trail.

December XC RIDE ! - Yep were ditching the tools , donning Santa hats and cracking open the mulled wine for a trail builders ride out. Sunday 16th meeting at top car park. Santa hats compulsory

DH DIG DAYS

I'm just in the process of allocating days for the DH digs, which should hopefully be up here soon. The basic pattern will be 1 or 2 this month, a rest in December and then back to it with 2 a month in Jan, Feb, Mar and Apr.

Work will almost certainly go back to Fast Track in order to finish this off as the general feedback and consensus has been favourable in terms of what has been introduced upto present.

Details and dates will appear soon.

Next XC Trailbuilding day will be 25th November, usual 10:00am at top car park.

As we now have the red route trail markers from FE we hope to be placing these. The rest of the group will work on opening up section 5, then some trail maintenance in section 3.

Two XC Dig days 21st and 27th October

We're running two XC Digs this month due to availability of People.

Si Hill is running 21st October, Rob G running 27th
Both start at 10:00am top car park and tools are provided but if you bring a spade there always handy.

This month we will be compelting work in section 4 to make it ridable, a bit of maintenance in section 3 where its very boggy and maybe brashing the new line in Section 5.
